Lorelei Ensemble recording
The women of Lorelei team up with Sono Luminus to record our third album, Impermanence. Impermanence is the first all-female recording of any of Du Fay's isorhythmic and cantilena motets (15c), and only the second recording of selections from the anonymous Turin Manuscript (14c) and Takemitsu's Wind Horse (1966). The premiere recording of Peter Gilbert's Tsukimi (commissioned for Lorelei in 2013) is the centerpiece and inspiration for this album and its concept. This breathtaking work features 8 miniatures on Japanese waka poetry, each featuring a member of the ensemble, and contemplating the moon as a symbol of impermanence.
